Though never officially released by The Beatles, the song does appear as a Beatles studio demo on a Japanese import version of Abbey Road. The Peter and Gordon single included "If I Were You" written by the duo. It was later included on the duo's debut album in the UK, and in the US on an album of the same name. In June 1964, "A World Without Love" topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. It is one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
